This Pleasured Reality

How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! 1John 3:1

We have forgotten ourselves. We who are children of the Great King wander drab streets downcast for reasons too great to number. We sometimes drift into the darkness of self-doubt and fear. But we are children of The Great King and we dare never forget this.

That we are HIS children should not only define us but also guide our actions, our thoughts—our lives. We are children of The Great King and must act, think, and live in a manner befitting this pleasured reality.

We must remember that we are His.

We must remember that HE is ours.

We are bound to Him as His children and He is bound to us as our Father.

We can go to Him boldly.

We can go to Him often.

We can go to Him with great requests or for no reason at all.

We can go to Him sinful to be washed.

We can go to Him wounded to be healed.

We can go to Him hungry to be filled or thirsty in search of drink.

We can go to Him in want or in plenty.

We can go to Him mourning or filled with joy.

We can go to Him in need or in need of nothing but to be with Him.

Before we can reach Him He will run to us,

take us in His arms and hug us (Lk. 15:20).

He will shower us with kisses and fuss as though He had missed us for years.

This is our God, our Father in heaven (Mat. 6:9).

How great is the love He has “lavished on us

that we should be called children of God!”

And that is what we are” (1Jn. 3:1).

Put away any thoughts of delay.

Run to Him!
