His Praise on Our Lips

I came to this post which had an extended quote by C. S. Lewis on Worship and it blessed me. I came across it, however, because I was pondering 1Tim. 1:17 in which Paul declared: “Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory for ever and ever. Amen.”

These words should be part of our daily vocabulary.

They should be part of the way we pray and worship.

Try including this as part of your daily prayer. Recite it.

I don’t mean that you should say it until it is strip of its meaning, but rather ponder each phrase.

Imbibe each word,

King,

Eternal,

Immortal,

Invisible,

the Only God.

Consider what each idea means.

Then pray all that back to God.

If you do this enough, they will spring from your lips when you least expect.
